In August 2026, the personal data of over 13,000 Trezor crypto wallet buyers was leaked. Hackers targeted not the company itself, but its delivery partner, ShipMonk. The names, email addresses, phone numbers, and home addresses of people who ordered the wallet from May to August of this year were leaked.

Why is this dangerous?

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) explained it simply:

& bull; When purchasing software wallets like MetaMask or Trust Wallet, you don't provide your delivery address. No one knows where exactly you live or that you have cryptocurrency.

& bull; But when you connect a hardware wallet, your home address leads to the courier service's website. And if this database falls into the hands of scammers, they will know exactly who is handling the cryptocurrency and where that person lives.

This is a avenue for three types of attacks:
📩 Fraudulent emails from "support" Trezor.
📞 Calls are expected from the courier or customs.
🏠 Burglaries or even financial registration of cryptocurrency owners.

How to protect yourself after this leak?

If you recently purchased a hardware wallet, be especially careful.

✅ Do not click on links consisting of letters on the side of the device.
✅ Never share your seed phrase with anyone.
✅ Use the hidden account feature (password) to close the main balance.
✅ Pick up parcels via parcel terminals or upon request, without providing your name and address.
✅ Check your link status for security.
